Saturday in the NE area of Philadelphia over 3 dozen supporters and members of Keystone United gathered at a local park to share the afternoon together. The event was organized to allow local Philadelphians the chance to meet the extended Keystone United family in a relaxed and social environment. Everyone was encouraged to bring their friends and families. Some local musicians even took the chance to share some material with the patrons of the event. Overall it was a great time shared by all.

With the success of the Philadelphia event, the locals in attendance brought to attention the need for regular community meetings. The idea consists of an event in which individuals can meet up frequently and discuss the course of action and outreach needed. The people of the local communities want more interaction with members of Keystone United, with that in mind members in Harrisburg are also looking to organize a local meet-up for supporters to share ideas and concerns with our members in a venue which supports the good nature of our people. We continue to be approached by concerned citizens everywhere, if you are interested in attending our local meet-ups or are interested in hosting one please contact us.

Saturday September 20, the members of Keystone United will be getting together in the greater Philadelphia area for a family outing. We would like to encourage everyone to try and attend this event if you are in the area.

Be sure to mark your calendars. Come and join us on Saturday, October 11th in Philadelphia, PA as we pay tribute to the great accomplishments of our ancestors during our second annual Leif Ericson Day celebration. We will be starting the day off with a brief walk to the Schuylkill river to gather at the famed statue of Icelandic/Viking explorer Thorfinn Karlsefni. We will be beginning our day’s celebration with a beautiful wreath laying ceremony followed up by a number of speakers that will be reciting the history of Leif Ericson’s historic voyage and discovery of North America along with the great accomplishments of Thorfinn Karlsefni and his son Snorri Karlsefni.

You are also invited to attend the live acoustic performances from a number of local Folk & Celtic musicians as they help to bring the days events to an end. We encourage all of you to bring your friends and family along so that we may celebrate together and continue to help our heritage grow. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

*We will be posting the exact time and location shortly along with local hotel info etc. Event is outside, dress accordingly, warm drinks and snacks will be avaiable. Please bring extra seating for during the live musical performances.
