Thorfinn Karlsefni Statue Vandalized by Leftists

The early morning of November 1st, Leftist protesters vandalized the Thorfinn Karlsefni statue on Kelly Drive in Philadelphia. The statue is believed to be targeted because of the recent articles published by the Philadelphia Daily News reviewing Keystone United’s Leif Ericson Day Celebration, which was held at the statue earlier in October. Vandals defaced the art in the middle of the night, to avoid confrontation. Blogs discussing the incident on PhillyIMC site, have revealed many involved with the Philadelphia’s Leftist organizations are not proud of the actions and are asking that the statue be cleaned.

Members and supporters of Keystone United were looking to organize a cleaning detail to restore the artwork to original appearance, yet decided against so not to further ruin the artwork. To prevent any further damages to the artwork we here at Keystone United are currently looking into the collection of donations to pay for the professional restoration of the statue.

The statue is only one of a recent chain of vandalism cases nation-wide. Several other statues including explorer Christopher Columbus were also defaced in red paint in protest of the colonization of Europeans on American soil.
